On June 25, 2019, SE "Guaranteed buyer" acquired the status of a market participant and has started on signing contracts: with RES producers and market participants in accordance with his obligations under the PSO in the new electricity market. NEURC, at its meeting on Monday, June 24, 2019, adopted resolutions amending the Market Rules, Rules of the Day-ahead and intraday markets, setting the price caps for the sale of electric energy for a period of 9 months which may to be offered by participants of such markets in their applications on the Day-ahead and intraday markets; and price restrictions on the Balancing and ancillary services markets, which will be in place until the moment when the Power System of Ukraine is synchronized with the ENTSO-E.

On June 26, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the order to attract a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the amount of 149 million euros for the implementation of the project "Modernization of the Ukrenergo power grid".

The project envisages the acquisition and replacement of 26 units of transformer equipment, as well as the reconstruction of 12 substations in the Western, Northern, Central and Southern regions for the introduction of an automated control system for technological processes at substations. Estimated completion date of the project is 2024.

Ukrenergo will exchange data on the ENTSO-E largest grid for the European grid: head of Ukrenergo Vsevolod Kovalchuk and Secretary General ENTSO-E Laurent Schmitt signed an agreement on data transmission from the Ukrainian grid to the Transparency Platform. The document stipulates that Ukrenergo will continuously transmit and update data on the ENTSO-E platform for load, capacity and balancing of the grid of Ukraine. It is another important step towards the integration of Ukrenergo into the network of European system operators and is a requirement for all members of the ENTSO-E.
