DTEK

DTEK Group is the first Ukrainian business to issue Green Eurobonds!

DTEK Renewables is the first Ukrainian company to issue specialized securities for the development of renewable energy. These first Green Eurobonds, with a maturity of five years, were issued for €325 million at a rate of 8.5% per annum.

According to DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko, “Green Eurobonds are a new tool for Ukrainian companies to attract investment for the development of our renewable energy sector”.

 DTEK reaches 1 GW of Renewable Energy Generation!

DTEK launches the Pokrovska Solar Power Plant (240 MW), the second largest solar farm in Europe by installed capacity. The solar farm in the Dnipropetrovsk region will provide 200 thousand households with clean energy, will help reduce CO2 emissions and strengthen Ukraine's energy independence.

The Pokrovska SPP will generate annually 400 mln kWh of green electricity, which is enough to supply 200 thousand private households. The solar farm helps reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 420 thousand tons per year, which is comparable to the emissions generated by more than 200 thousand cars.

EDS Engineering

The EDS Group has started the construction of the 330/35 kV high-voltage substation “Nadezhdino” with a maximum capacity of 500 MW. The customer and the general contractor of the project is Polish partner Electrum, and the investor is the Ukrainian unit of the international company EuroCape. For EDS Engineering, this project is a major challenge and a milestone, as it will be the first electrical substation to be built by its specialists from “zero”.

EuroCape and Electrum are in process of the construction of project Zaporizhzhya. The project has a total capacity of 500MW, one of the biggest in Europe. The first phase will include 27 General Electric turbines with a total installed capacity of 98 MW.

Khmelnytsky Bio Power Plant LLC

with GOLAW under initiate of EUEA held a press conference  on 5th December, 2019 regarding the future of bioenergy projects in Ukraine took place at the press center of the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

The participants of the conference emphasized on the necessity for the levels of quotas, which are sufficient to allow the biomass sector to implement large bio-energy projects and lead to an outflow of investors who have already entered the market. Let’s hope that this assists the Government with address the issues within the bioenergy sector in Ukraine.

NBT AS

Erection of the first turbine of NBT’s first Ukrainian wind farm was completed on 18 November, marking an important milestone for the project and the start of a busy period with erection of another 62 turbines.

Jointly developed by NBT and its French partner Total Eren, Syvash Wind Farm is located in Kherson region in southern Ukraine and projected to generate approximately 850 GWh of electric power a year.

NBT AS and China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd. (CET), the EPC subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China, have signed two EPC contracts for building a 750 MW wind farm in Ukraine.

Located in the Zaporizhia region of Ukraine, the Zophia Wind Farm will be built in two phases – 300 MW Zophia II and 450 MW Zophia III. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest onshore wind farm.

In the meantime, NBT, CET, Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the Export-Import Bank of China (Exim Bank of China) and China Construction Bank (CCB) also signed the Preliminary Financing Arrangement Agreement to finance Zophia II and Zophia III wind farms.

Scatec Solar

Scatec Solar has signed an agreement with FMO, the Dutch development bank, for FMO to take a 40% equity stake in Scatec Solar’s 55 MW Chigirin project in Ukraine. The total investment for the project is estimated at EUR 54 million and is funded by non-recourse debt financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) and Swedfund.
