The event was oriented on Ukrainian politicians, society and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p>EUEA Board member Wolfram Rehbock in his presentation \u201cGeneral Political Conditions for Renewable Energy \u2013 Status Quo and Perspectives\u201d focused on investment conditions in general. Without stable economic and political frameworks and without consideration of the \u201crule of law\u201d remarkable investments unlikely will happen in Ukraine. Moreover, green tariff system should be put into a context of a new Energy Strategy for Ukraine that takes into account the potentials of Ukraine (e.g. biomass) and pays attention to factors like affordable energy prices, sustainability, inter-generation fairness etc. When talking about the energy balance of Ukraine not only renewable energies should be regarded, but especially the reduction of energy consumption. Energy efficiency can be partially regulated, but the best regulation is the market with non-subsidized energy prices. Notwithstanding the need of regulation of energy market due to its monopolized character any system should let space for competition. Finally Mr. Rehbock noticed that investment needs into (smart) grids will force Ukraine to a privatization of this sector.<\/p>\n<p>In the frames of the conference were held B-to-B meetings between Ukrainian and German business community, interested in business contacts in the sphere of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. The co-organizer of the meetings was EUEA.
