Given the extent of private interests of some governmental officials within the highly complex energy sector in Ukraine, it is of course very difficult to speak of how the market for energy efficiency and renewable energy will develop. The speakers and guests agreed on the fact that Ukrainian society is very corrupt on all the levels, thus no need to outline the energy sector in particular. The main goal of Ukraine should be the setting of conditions which ensure the functioning, transparency and competiveness of the energy market, which can be mainly done by unbundling of vertically integrated energy providers and a clear separation of politics from the business. But this is a topic that is not a sole problem of Ukraine and that should be sharply divided from corruption.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;On the other hand, EU and its institutions, as never before has impact on how even internal politics are formed, given the recent Ukraine\u2019s accession to Energy Community, the talks on the internal gas market regulation, modernization of gas pipe, etc. While Ukraine is taking international obligations the hope remains that internal reforms will take place within the nearest future\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sixth \u201eKiev Dialogue\u201c &#8211; Corruption in Politics, Economy and Administration \u2013 Strategies of the Civil Society and the International Community to fight against Corruption &#8211; was held on 28-30 October 2010, Kiev Dialogue\u201c is unaffiliated, independent initiative, which appeared on the basis of German-Ukrainian civil community.
