{"id":19431,"date":"2019-05-06T21:43:28","date_gmt":"2019-05-06T18:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/english-category\/news\/euea-latest-accomplishments\/appeal-to-the-minister-of-infrastructure-to-create-of-the-wg-for-the-decarbonization-of-the-transport-industry\/"},"modified":"2019-05-06T21:43:28","modified_gmt":"2019-05-06T18:43:28","slug":"appeal-to-the-minister-of-infrastructure-to-create-of-the-wg-for-the-decarbonization-of-the-transport-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/en\/news\/euea-latest-accomplishments\/appeal-to-the-minister-of-infrastructure-to-create-of-the-wg-for-the-decarbonization-of-the-transport-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal to the Minister of Infrastructure to create of the WG for the decarbonization of the transport industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span ><strong><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-19426\" src=\"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane.jpg\" width=\"478\" height=\"300\" alt=\"Plane\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane.jpg 478w, https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane-30x19.jpg 30w, https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane-80x50.jpg 80w, https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Plane-50x31.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/>The European-Ukrainian Energy Agency has appealed to the Ministry of Infrastructure<\/strong> with an official letter on the proposal to create a Working Group under the Ministry of Infrstructure &#8220;<strong>Decarbonization of Transport Infrastructure<\/strong>&#8220;. <span ><a href=\"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/V.V._Omelyanu_Dekarbonizatsiya_transportnoyi_infrastruktury.pdf\"><span >Download the official letter.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span >The urgency of the creation of such a working group, in particular, is that the National Transport Strategy adopted by the Government of Ukraine for the period up to 2030 includes &#8220;encouraging the use of alternative energy sources in transport infrastructure, as well as environmental modes of transport and special equipment.&#8221; This task is especially important given the plans for the development \/ rehabilitation of transport infrastructure throughout Ukraine until 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span >Therefore, taking into account the above-mentioned arguments, it should be concluded that the urgency of modernizing energy use and the use of energy efficient measures and the introduction of renewable energy sources will contribute not only to more efficient and rational use of energy resources, but also to reduce freight and passenger transportation costs, increase passenger comfort, as well as the stability of the transport infrastructure in the national dimension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span >Task of the working group<\/span> <\/strong><span >to solve the previously described problems together with the state institutions, first of all, in direct cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span >Increase understanding of the situation on the part of senior state management;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span >Establish detailed systematic information source on reducing CO2 emissions and consumption of energy resources;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span >Enhance the general level of awareness of fuel and energy related staff responsible for transport matters;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span >Increase the potential for the use of alternative (renewable) energy sources and alternative transport;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span >Gain additional investment in the industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span >Impact of the working group on the development of the industry<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span >On a long-term and wider level, Ukraine&#8217;s economic prospects for reducing CO2 emissions and energy efficiency in transport infrastructure should be noted, given the significant growth of transport links.
