{"id":29855,"date":"2023-06-15T09:46:31","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T06:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/?p=29855"},"modified":"2023-06-15T09:46:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-15T06:46:31","slug":"euea-calls-on-the-regulator-to-remove-price-caps-on-the-electricity-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/en\/news\/market-news\/euea-calls-on-the-regulator-to-remove-price-caps-on-the-electricity-market\/","title":{"rendered":"EUEA calls on the Regulator to remove price caps on the electricity market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On June 8, 2023, the NEURC approved the draft resolution &#8220;On establishing price limits on the day-ahead market, intraday market and balancing market&#8221;, which proposes a 35% increase in the maximum price limit and the cancellation of the minimum price limit.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nerc.gov.ua\/news\/nkrekp-shvalila-ta-vinesla-na-obgovorennya-proyekt-rishennya-pro-vstanovlennya-granichnih-cin-na-elektroenergiyu\"><u>Details<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The joint letter: <a href=\"https:\/\/euea-energyagency.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Asots-NKREKP-shhodo-prays-kepiv.pdf\">\u041b\u0438\u0441\u0442 \u0410\u0441\u043e\u0446\u0456\u0430\u0446\u0456\u0439 \u0434\u043e \u041d\u041a\u0420\u0415\u041a\u041f \u0449\u043e\u0434\u043e \u043f\u0440\u0430\u0439\u0441-\u043a\u0435\u043f\u0456\u0432<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this regard, the EUEA, together with the UWEA, prepared\u00a0a joint letter to the NEURC, in which they emphasized that the approval of the above mentioned draft decision would\u00a0lead to negative consequences for the RES sector and the market as a whole, due to the following:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The Guaranteed Buyer will not receive funds from the sale of electricity during the hours of maximum SPP generation and minimum consumption (daily summer hours) &#8211; the market will have a maximum offer with a minimum price due to the actual absence of a lower limit price.
