In Berlin, on November 5, 2025, during the event <\/span>Ukraine Reimagined: Investing in Renewables and Storage<\/span><\/i>, held as part of the 16th European-Ukrainian Energy Day and organized by the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency in cooperation with the Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, a Mandate Letter was signed between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), ReAgro, and the Globino Group.<\/span><\/p>\n

The document grants the EBRD a mandate as <\/span>mandated lead arranger<\/b> to conduct full financial, technical, and environmental & social due diligence and to prepare the structure of <\/span>long-term project financing<\/b>, subject to satisfactory results and the Bank\u2019s internal approvals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The signing marks an important milestone in the development of <\/span>two biomethane projects in Poltava region<\/b> \u2013 the <\/span>Globyno<\/b> and <\/span>Novoselivka<\/b> plants, with a combined capacity of around <\/span>10 million m\u00b3 of biomethane per year (\u2248 100 GWh)<\/b>. Both projects have already received support under <\/span>The Innovate Ukraine <\/b>Programme<\/b>, funded by <\/span>UK International Development<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The signing of the <\/span>Mandate Letter<\/b> is a significant signal for the entire sector: Ukrainian biomethane projects are demonstrating compliance with international <\/span>project finance<\/b> standards and the ability to attract institutional lenders.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>The <\/span>Globyne Biomethane Plant (GBP)<\/b> will process more than <\/span>200 000 tonnes of livestock waste per year<\/b>, producing <\/span>biomethane, green electricity<\/b>, and <\/span>digestate<\/b> for use as organic fertilizer. The project investment is approximately <\/span>\u20ac15 million<\/b>, with an annual output of <\/span>4\u20135 million m\u00b3 (\u2248 45\u201350 GWh)<\/b>. <\/span>Construction is planned to start in the second half of 2026.<\/b><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Novoselivka Biomethane Plant (NBP)<\/b> will be the largest facility in ReAgro\u2019s portfolio, processing over <\/span>400 000 tonnes of agricultural waste per year<\/b> from several farms in the region. Its expected output is up to <\/span>6 million m\u00b3 (\u2248 60 GWh)<\/b> of biomethane annually. The project investment is around <\/span>\u20ac23 million<\/b>, and <\/span>construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe collaboration between businesses, financial institutions, and the state opens up real investment opportunities for Ukrainian energy. Biomethane is already becoming an integral part of Ukraine\u2019s future energy system, which is being developed according to international standards. We are pleased that the EUEA is creating a platform for such initiatives.\u201d

Following the launch of the Globyne and Novoselivka plants, <\/span>ReAgro plans to build at least one new biomethane plant each year starting from 2028<\/b>, adding approximately <\/span>50 GWh of green gas annually<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
