All-Ukrainian Award: Leaders in Energy Management

The All-Ukrainian Award: Leaders in Energy Management is implemented by the EUEA with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) project “Implementation of Energy Management Systems Standards in Ukrainian Industry,” thanks to funding from the Global Environmental Facility, which provides a grant for the award.

It recognises leading Ukrainian companies for their achievements in implementing energy management systems. The award programme in Ukraine is implemented following the example of the international Energy Management Leadership Awards by Clean Energy Ministerial.

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION

The competition is open to enterprises of various sizes and
forms of ownership located in Ukraine:

Large, medium and small enterprises
State, municipal and private ownership
The presence of an implemented energy management system.
Large enterprises must have a certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001, while this is not mandatory for SMEs.

Applications will be accepted until 7 February 2025, 17:00 Kyiv time.

ADVANTAGES

The winners of the competition will receive the prestigious Award for Excellence and certificates for energy efficiency services worth $5,000 and $10,000.

This award symbolises high recognition and distinction for companies in the field of energy management, energy efficiency and progressive low-carbon industrial development in Ukraine.

Overview of the awards programme

The All-Ukrainian Energy Management Leaders Award recognises leading companies for their achievements in implementing energy management systems (hereinafter referred to as EMS). Large companies will be awarded for the results of implementing a certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 standards. Small and medium-sized enterprises (hereinafter referred to as SMEs) will be awarded for the best approaches to the implementation of energy management and energy efficiency measures.

To participate in the Award Programme, enterprises are invited to submit applications presenting their examples of energy management implementation. Each application must contain information about the experience of implementation at the enterprise and the benefits gained for the business from the implementation of EnMS. Applications will be selected by a jury committee consisting of respected experts in energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001.

We will be sure to inform you of the details regarding the continuation of the Programme after our victory.

Applications for participation in the award programme may be submitted by enterprises located in Ukraine, whether state-owned, privately owned or municipally owned. Applications may be submitted by a group of companies or separately by legal entities that are part of this group of companies, as well as their divisions, branches and others.

The jury will consider applications in two groups: Group 1 – Large enterprises; Group 2 – Small and medium-sized enterprises.  Participants will independently choose their group for participation based on the number of employees and/or annual turnover.

All participants in the competition whose applications comply with the rules of the Programme will receive one of two awards:

Award for Excellence: The winners of the competition will receive a certificate for energy efficiency services. Two large enterprises, worth $10,000 each. Three enterprises that fall under the small and medium-sized criteria, worth $5,000 each. Competition winners who receive the “Award for Excellence” will choose one of the following energy efficiency services:

  • Consultancy services by leading national and international consultants (provided by UNIDO);
  • Procurement of equipment for energy efficiency/SEW measures (procured by UNIDO).

Award for initiative: All participants who have submitted applications and provided all the necessary information in accordance with the Programme requirements will receive an “Award for Initiative” and the opportunity to take free advanced training courses in energy efficiency.
