iC consulenten experts have developed a reconstruction concept and are assisting in the implementation of a heat supply system for a multifamily building that is being renovated following damage caused by military actions. The building is located in Trostianets, Sumy region.
The building’s new heat supply system will rely on renewable energy sources—specifically, heat pumps and a solar power plant that will generate electricity for the pumps and the heat pump used for hot water needs. Sixty apartments, housing approximately 150 people, will be provided with stable heating. The work is expected to be completed in the coming months.
This is one of the first projects of its kind for a multi-story building heat supply system in Ukraine.
The project for Trostianets is funded by the German private green energy cooperative Green Planet Energy, the Greenpeace Environmental Fund, and Greenpeace e.V.
The transition from natural gas to renewable energy sources in the residential building sector is a key principle established in the Trostianets Master Plan, developed for the city by iC consulenten and CES Clean Energy Solutions in collaboration with international experts.
Hence, we are especially excited to witness the city’s first successful steps toward sustainable development.
