The unprecedented activity in the Ukrainian energy sector is reflected in the agenda for the 2014 Forum and will be covered by key players directly involved in the process:

–        Ukraine has made great strides in diversifying its sources of energy supply, building up reverse supplies of gas from the EU and reducing its dependency on Russian gas imports. In addition, there are moves to develop a regional gas hub, based on Ukraine’s huge storage infrastructure. Andree Stracke of RWE and Paul Shapiro of the EBRD are just 2 of the experts who will address this;

–        The PSA model is up and running and Shell, Chevron and the ExxonMobil-led consortium are all making steady progress in their cooperation with the government. You will hear status updates on all the projects and hear from other experts, such as Vitaly Radchenko of CMS Cameron McKenna and James Bown of Vanco Prykerchenska;

–        As the first test drilling takes place, the debate on Ukraine’s massive estimated reserves of unconventional gas continues, as it does across Europe. Hear about all the latest ecological, technical and economic developments and from the oil & gas companies who are actively involved in the sphere, such as Cadogan Petroleum, Iskander Energy and Ukrgazvidobuvannya;

–        The Draft Law on the Electricity Market is shortly to go before parliament and promises to be a major step towards true liberalisation of the sector. Hear first hand about the implications for the sector from the likes of Kyivenergo, Scottish & Southern Energy and experts from McKinsey & Company and IMEPOWER during the Electricity Focus Day on 27th February;

–        The renewable energy sector continues to grow and strengthen its position as a regional leader. Hear from leading project developers including Activ Solar, Continental Wind Partners, Wind Parks of Ukraine and EuroCape New Energy.

In addition, we will feature the views of the leading analysts – hear from Tatiana Mitrova of Russia’s Energy Research Institute on the latest in Russian-Ukrainian energy relations and from Mykhailo Gonchar of the NOMOS Centre on opportunities on the Black Sea Shelf.

We look forward to involving you in the dialogue with all the important players and stakeholders as exciting commercial opportunities open up in the Ukrainian energy sector.
