solar energy2Vienna-based Activ Solar announces the completion of a new 20 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) installation located near the village of Perovo (Crimea, Ukraine). The installation is the first phase of the Perovo Project – another multi-phased “mega-project” under development by Activ Solar. Earlier this year, the company launched the 7.5MW Rodnikovoye Solar Power Station and half of the 80MW Ohotnikovo Solar Power Station, which will be completed by year-end.

“The Perovo project is further evidence of ActivSolar’s significant commitment to the development of the solar PV industry in Ukraine”, emphasizes Kaveh Ertefai, CEO of Activ Solar. “Our projects continue to transform undeveloped and non-arable areas in the Crimea, giving them productive and sustainable purpose”, says Kaveh Ertefai.

Phase I of the installation in Perovo is expected to produce approximately 26,500 megawatt hours of electricity per annum and consists of over 88,000 mono and multi-crystalline solar PV modules ground-mounted on a surface of 40 hectares. To date, this is the largest single-row PV system installed in the region.
