Yesterday, July 3, Dave Young, EUEA Chairmen of the Board participated in the Seminar “Sustainable Biomass Certification: Ukrainian Experience and Biofuel EU Policy Development” organized by GIZ and Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting.
The seminar touched a lot of actual issues that require immediate act. Among then panel discussion: The future of the Ukrainian biofuel market? European and Ukrainian Convictions that brought together representatives of government private and third sectors (the agenda is available HERE in Ukrainian).
In relation to the biomass market of the future Dave Young commented: “That whilst sustainability was very important, it might be more important to not put the horse before the cart and resolve the real legislative issues affecting bioenergy in Ukraine before rushing to put measures in place to improve and stabilize it”.
