On December 18, 2020, the General Meeting of EUEA took place and in order to comply with the present COVID 19 restrictions and with the safety of our staff and member’s representatives, the meeting was hosted online.

The 2020 year has been very challenging for the organization and many EUEA members. Setting the health crisis aside, the Ukrainian energy sector has had its fair share of issues. In 2019 EUEA initiated the mediation proceedings against the Ukrainian government for its failure to uphold the legislation that protects our members’ investments in the renewable energy sector. It resulted in a long and procrastinated negotiation with the government which we as an organization could not have concluded without the immense support from our members. Finally, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed, which led to the promising changes on the energy market and EUEA continues to monitor its implementation.

Among others, the major priority topics for 2021 and working plan at the General Meeting were discussed and approved in the frame of the working groups: renewable energy, hydrogen and energy efficiency.

Summing up activities of EUEA in 2020, 27+ events and meetings were held, 6 press conferences, 4+ special raising awareness projects. In 2020, 15 new companies joined the organization and currently EUEA has 41 company-members. One of the renown events, organized by EUEA, in this year was the 11th European-Ukrainian Energy Day about EU Green Deal relevance for Ukraine with about 15 000 online views in total.

The prominent decision of the EUEA Annual General Meeting of members, was the election of the new Board, Chairperson and the Vice-Chairs.

We sincerely welcome the New elected EUEA Board 2021:
