One of the most discussed subjects of the event was a topic dedicated to issues of improvement of the investment potential in the Ukrainian energy sector, development of an alternative energy. Following persons participated at the discussion: Olena Rybak, Director of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency; André Küüsvek, EBRD Country Director; Tocheny Vadim Anatolievych, manager of the national project “Energy of the nature”, the State Investment and Management of National Projects Agency of Ukraine; Timur Bondaryev, Managing Partner of the Arzinger Legal Office.

Speakers of this panel raised a question on imperfections and perspectives of the state stimulation of the alternative energy industry in connection to the law on the “green” tariff which came into force. The participants noted that the “green” tariff law is a right step, same as possibility to receive VAT privileges for renewable electric power. But comparing situation in Ukraine with other countries, some directions for improvement of the legislation can be found. First of all, it concerns the prolongation of the validity term for the “green” tariff. But nevertheless, the huge potential of the country attracts more attention of foreign companies and they are willing to implement their projects here.
