SAEE of Ukraine held discussions with leading experts in areas of energy efficiency about the use of mechanisms of distribution of 500 million financial assistance of the European Union. “Today, about 25 billion cubic meters of gas is consumed by public and heat-generating companies. At the same time, Ukraine’s annual gas production is about 20 billion cubic meters. In this situation, we must concentrate funds to, first of all, substitute gas consumption” said Sergey Savchuk, newly appointed Chairman of SAEE.
Some experts noted that forwarding these funds for reimbursement of interest is the shortest way to the gas replacement.
Elena Rybak – EUEA Board Member noted that a transparent and expert project selection for such amount would enable Ukraine to further involve considerable investment in this sector.
