On the 5th of June 2020 an internal online meetup for EUEA members was held on the topic: “Remedies available to green energy investors due to upcoming changes in state support regime”.

GOLAW in collaboration with Allen & Overy, an international law firm with the international investment treaty practice in the renewable energy sector discussed potential changes in state support regime for renewable energy producers.

The speakers were: Max Lebedev, partner at GOLAW, Vice Chairman of EUEA; James Freeman, partner at Allen and Overy, London office; Marie Stoyanov, partner at Allen & Overy, Paris office.

The speakers shared their views on legal options of protection available for market players, especially provided by Energy Charter Treaty and other international treaties, the damages that can be claimed, the features of international arbitration case and gave practical recommendations, based on previous experience.
