Guaranteed Buyer

The Guaranteed Buyer made an advance payment to renewable energy producers for the first decade of February. On February 14, 2020, the company paid UAH 300 million to producers under the “green” tariff. The level of settlements for the first decade of the month is 33%.

The Guaranteed Buyer faces a significant threat of failure to fulfill its obligations as a result of the non-fulfillment of its obligations under the contract with Energoatom:

According to the estimates of the Energoatom, the indebtedness of the Guaranteed Buyer for the period from 01/02/2020 to 09/02/2020 is 901 276 454, 40 UAH with VAT. From 00 h. 00 minutes On February 12, 2020, Energoatom limited the sale (release) of electricity from the NPP to the Guaranteed Buyer by 25% of the planned electricity supply until settlement of the debt issue.

The Regulator approved the Guaranteed Buyer service cost in December in the amount of UAH 836.6 million, the corresponding decision was made at the meeting on February 7, 2020.

The source of financing the final green tariff payment for December 2019 identifies the funds to be guaranteed to the Guaranteed Buyer by universal service providers (USPs) as a result of adjusting their electricity to actual data. According to the schedule of payments approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1003 of 09.12.19, the USPs should complete the payments with the Guaranteed Buyer by the end of February 2020, after which the Guaranteed Buyer will complete the payments with the electricity producers at the green tariff for December 2019.
