The European-Ukrainian Energy Agency is pleased to announce its official support of the Energy Talk “The Georgian market opportunities: from hydropower to Res”.

DATE & TIME: 25 February, 10:00 – 11:30 GMT

The energy sector of Georgia is very attractive in terms of its vast untapped potential, increased local and regional demand coupled with market liberalisation.

Its approximately 300 rivers could produce a significant amount of hydropower, with potential hydro generation capacity estimated at 15 000 MW.

By 2030, it should be possible to integrate 1 332 MW of wind and 520 MW of solar energy.

The Georgian government is implementing a number of large-scale reforms in the energy sector to fulfill the obligations under the Association Agreement between Georgia and EU and Protocol on ‘’Accession of Georgia to Energy Community Treaty’’.
