newsAccording to the “Ukrainian Energetics” (article in Ukrainian) the VRU Committee on Environmental Policy, Natural Resources Utilization and Chernobyl Outcome Liquidation recommended rejecting a bill “On Amendments to some laws of Ukraine on stimulation of the energy generation from RES” (reg. #2946) on 5 June 2013 during the working meeting.

It was stated that current “green” tariff for electricity generated from wind, solar, biomass and small hydro, was created for environmentally friendly energy and annual cost reduction in this sector. However, the experience of the EU with regard to solid waste indicates high risk of environmental pollution, high costs of power generation, thus it will not stimulate opportunities to develop the production of cheap electricity after the expiration of the “green” tariff.
