Today, February 8, 2022, representatives of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency met with Rostyslav Shurma, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
At the meeting, the participants raised the issue of payment of debts to RES electricity producers for 2021, the insufficient level of the transmission tariff of «NPC «Ukrenergo» and the need to revise it to increase. They also discussed the prospects for the development of the RES sector in the near future with the use of a new mechanism of contracts for difference, corporate and financial contracts for the sale of electricity, improving the work of SE “Guaranteed Buyer” and future auctions. In addition, the participants raised the issue of the President’s Program on thermal modernization of buildings.

It should be noted that the main dynamics of growth of the renewable energy sector is in the period up to 2020. For the last two years, the renewable energy sector has been largely in an unstable unpredictable state, which undoubtedly has a negative impact on the investment climate of the industry and the economy of Ukraine in general. Problem with monthly underpayments, as well as accumulated debts to RES electricity producers is still relevant.
Therefore, as a result, it was agreed that the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency will prepare a number of proposals on the above issues in the near future and will send them for consideration to the Office of the President and will stay in touch.
