At the EUEA press briefing, Valentyna Huch-Denysenko provided a brief overview of events in the field of energy efficiency in Ukraine.

In 2021 the following main events took place:

-A adopted the Law “On Energy Efficiency”, which focuses on improving energy efficiency in increasing energy efficiency in the industrial sector and public buildings. The law implements provisions of the EU Directive 2012/27 on energy efficiency and Directive 2009/125 / EU on ecodesign requirements for energy-related products into national legislation.

– State Budget for 2022 expects UAH 2.6 billion to finance only the program «Energodim» of the Energy Efficiency Fund, which provides financial support for the implementation of energy efficiency for home-owner associations (HOAs). Individual residential buildings will remain outside the financial support of energy efficiency. The government program “Warm Loans” remained without funding for 2022.

– The Government of Ukraine adopted the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency until 2030, which sets a national energy efficiency target  and a plan of measures to achieve it

– EUEA and UNIDO launched The All-Ukrainian Award: Pacesetters for Energy Management.The All-Ukrainian Award: Pacesetters for Energy Management is the first of its kind in Ukraine, which recognizes leading organizations for their energy management achievements.
