From the Draft Law №5600 the introduction of a 3.2% excise tax on green energy was excluded

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Taxation and Customs Policy on Friday voted to exclude from the Draft Law №5600 the introduction of a 3.2% excise tax on green energy.

On September 17, at a meeting of the Committee during the consideration of amendments to the Draft Law №5600 on the introduction of excise duty on renewable energy, the director of the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency Oleksandra Gumeniuk noted.

“The introduction of an excise tax of 3.2% is not the best indicator for Ukraine. Due to the introduction of the excise tax, Ukraine will lose face in the international arena as a country that supports the development of “green” energy.

Last year, a Memorandum was signed with the Government of Ukraine and industry associations. The government has pledged not to change the legislation in force as of last year. And what is happening now? This is a gross violation” – noted Ms Gumeniuk.
