EUEA was awarded a grant by the UK Embassy for the implementation of the project “Enhancing Energy Efficiency in Ukraine”. The purpose of the project is to help Ukraine strengthen energy efficiency legislation in line with Energy Community Treaty obligations, drawing on UK and EU experience and recommendations leading to improved energy efficiency, enhanced energy security and reduced impact of climate change.
The project will be carried out over a period of 6 months from September 2012 to February 2013, and will involve several activities, including:
– The assessment of current policy papers in the field of Energy Efficiency in Ukraine (during September),
– Organization of a workshop bringing together officials and experts from the UK, EU and Ukraine (early October),
– Publication of an analytical paper summarizing discussions and proposing a plan for enhancing energy efficiency in Ukraine, as well as dissemination of a publication throughout experts and business community,
– Organization of a high level roundtable with decision makers to further promote best international practices, followed up by the preparation and dissemination of recommendations (early-mid February).
