During the Green Dialogue on February 4, 2022, Oleksandra Gumeniuk, Director of EUEA, a business association of the largest foreign investors in the RES sector who have invested more than € 3.5 billion in the sector, noted the importance of the international aspect, as EUEA estimates that about 30% of RES’s installed capacity in Ukraine built by foreign investors from around the world. 

Ms. Oleksandra also noted as of the beginning of 2022, the total installed capacity of RES is 9.6 GW, including home solar power plants, which are already about 1.2 GW. In 2021, 714.3 MW of new capacity of industrial RES facilities was added. The RES share in the whole electricity generation in 2021 is – 8%, while, according to the National Economic Strategy until 2030, the share of RES should be 25%.

The Director also noted the important strategic and international documents that will have an impact on the development of the RES and EE sectors in Ukraine, and reminded that EUEA is implementing an award program with the support of UNIDO – All-Ukrainian Award: Pacesetters for Energy Management and also announced the 13th European-Ukrainian Energy Day, which will take place on June 16, 2021.
