The Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine has set up a working group to work on the prospects for sustainable development of Renewable Energy under the chair of Minister Oleksiy Orzhel. The European-Ukrainian Energy Agency has joined the working group to develop solutions for the sustainable and uninterrupted operation of the Energy Market and to comply with the legal requirements regarding investor obligations.

EUEA is deeply concerned about discussing the possibility of introducing a retrospective review of the current “green” tariff guaranteed by law. Retrospective changes to legislation that would worsen the Ukrainian regulatory environment for already existing renewable power plants or projects under development and construction, could result in the default of almost 400 existing RES operators in servicing their contractual obligations claims of foreign investors against Ukraine in international arbitration tribunals to pay billions of dollars. We believe that dialogue between your police makers and international investment community is extremely important.

Association “European-Ukrainian Energy Agency” (EUEA), established in 2009, unites investors from Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and other countries that implement projects in Ukraine with a total investments of more than 1.5 billion euros and with a combined capacity more than 1,5 GW of renewable energy generation.

Members of EUEA: Acciona, Avenston, Celynx AG, CES, DTEK, EDS Engineering, EMSOLT, Eurocape, GOLAW, Guris, Greenworx, iC consulenten, IMEPOWER, Indian Solar, Khmelnytsky Bio Power Plant, Meganom, NBT AS, Scatec Solar, Schletter Group, SINNALBA Group LLC, Smart Energy, Thermosystems, Ukraine Power Resources, Ukrwindinvestments, Volten, YEO Electrical & Automation.
