In the end of 2012 Ukrainian solar energy had 372 MW of installed capacity, which is 182 MW (95.8 %) more than the previous year. This data was released within the latest market review, prepared by Energici Holdings Inc. (Research and Markets).
Solar energy accounted for 6% of all renewable power sector and 0.7 % – of all generations. According to the forecast for 2017 the installed capacity of solar power will reach 3087 MW.
Compared to other markets, Ukrainian solar sector was ranked 22 in the world and first in Eurasia. Regulation also seems attractive with all its incentives and policies, in 5 of the 14 categories of research. In terms of market attractiveness, Ukraine performs higher than average (86 out of 100 points), taking 29 place worldwide. Only 4 categories (out of 31) were below average comparing to other solar energy markets.
