The Government presented the President’s new program for thermal modernization of buildings in Ukraine to the heads of local governments at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Kharkiv, on February 11, 2022

The main points of the presentation:

  • The Program of thermal modernization of buildings will start in 2022;
  • In the first year it is planned to thermal modernize 5 thousand houses;
  • Priority will be given to buildings built before the 90s;
  • The results of the program will reduce 2.5% of gas imports and will create up to 170 thousand jobs;
  • Starting pilot projects have already taken place in Dnipro;
  • The Government plans to invest UAH 140 billion, which will be used for targeted loans at 3% per annum for local governments;
  • Loans will be provided by UKRFINZHYTLO (UFZHK);
  • Next week, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will be adopted, which will allow launching a new program of Thermal Modernization.
