03 June 2019, European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA) members had a business dinner with Mr. Jason Brett Pellmar – Regional Manager of IFC in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.

At the dinner there was discussed position of EUEA members concerning renewable energy market policy development and what is the vision of members regarding financial support of renewable energy projects, which is expected from IFC and Ukrgasbank accordingly.  During the preparatory work of the DRAFT LAW 8449-d about new state support policy of renewable energy and auction system, EUEA members performed total support of it. There were few recommendations from our side, which were partly included and partly not, but in general the Law is acceptable.

Some EUEA members expressed vision,  that IFC could show real commitment to Ukraine’s renewable market by starting to provide funds/project financing to projects to international independent power producers (IPPs). Also EUEA members were interested whether IFC could provide financing for renewable projects in Ukraine directly or via Ukrgasbank.

It was great chance for market players to ask true questions and hear clear answers.

On behalf of EUEA at the dinner took part Oleksandra Gumeniuk – Director of EUEA, Olena Rybak – Vice Chairman of the EUEA Board, Managing Director of iC consulenten Ukraine, Max Lebedev – Member of EUEA Board, – Co-Chair of Solar Energy EUEA Working Group, Partner at Law Firm “GOLAW”, Magnus Johansen – Co-Chair of Solar Energy EUEA Working Group, Business Development Manager at Scatec Solar, Dmytro Lukomsky – CEO at Avenston, Oleksandr Burdun – Country representative of Ukrwindinvestments Ltd, Loic Lermanoix – Country representative of Guris, Victoria Syromiatova – CEO at DTEK Renewables, Eren Gumus – Country representative of Smart Energy.
