Document-icon1On February 1, 2012 Ukraine celebrates the first anniversary of its membership in the European Energy Community.

The study  “One year in Energy Community: How good we stand?”, prepared by NGO “Dixie Group”, is dedicated to the analysis of implementation of a number of European directives and regulations in the areas of electricity, gas, environment and renewable energy sources Ukraine had committed to fulfill by January 1, 2012.

The study contains comprehensive information about the state of implementation and current status of each of the directives. Leading Ukrainian experts provided professional comments on the implementation of EU regulations in their areas of expertise.

Thus, Olena Rybak provided the analysis of the current state of implementation of EU Directives 2001/77/EEC and 2003/30/EC, which concern the promotion of electricity produced from renewable energy sources in the internal electricity market and promotion of the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels in the transport sector.

The study  “One year in Energy Community: How good we stand?” was prepared by NGO “Dixie Group” and funded by the “Renaissance” International Fund in the frames of project “Monitoring of Ukraine’s commitments under the Energy Community.”
