On September 11, European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA) as International Partner of Re-Energy Expo XXI Warsaw held a thematic panel “Renewable energy and energy efficiency market of Ukraine: Polish-Ukrainian Investment Horizon”.
Speakers presented the markets of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of Ukraine, their sizes, opportunities and peculiarities, shared practical experience of the implementation of projects in these areas.
Oleksandra Gumeniuk, Director of EUEA, presented the state of the renewable energy market of Ukraine in numbers, outlined Ukraine’s promising goals in the sector, spoke about changes in regulation of RES projects, transition to the auction system.
Sergey Novoselov, Energy Efficiency Finance expert of iC consulenten Ukraine, outlined the scope of Ukraine’s energy efficiency market, the approximate amounts of funding needed to implement energy efficiency measures in residential buildings, public buildings and communal utilities. Sergiy enlighten possible sources of financing for such projects, gave some advices for successful implementation of the projects in Ukraine.
Alper Tuncer, Board Member of European-Ukrainian Energy Agency, Managing Partner of EMSOLT Investments, told about the experience of a Turkish company in the implementation of solar energy projects in Ukraine, separately focusing on those issues that should be addressed to companies that intend to build RES facilities in Ukraine.
Max Lebedev, Board Member of European-Ukrainian Energy Agency, Co-Chair of Solar Energy EUEA Subgroup, Partner of Law Firm GOLAW, highlighted the main issues that need legal expertise and emphasized the possible risks, based on GOLAW’s experience in conducting due diligence of RES projects. At the end of his speech, Maxim gave some advice to investors for the successful implementation of their projects.
