Eastern Investment Group Ltd. intends to put into operation the first boiler of solid biomass thermal power plant with the capacity of 6 MW in the village of Ivankov (Kiev region) by October 2013. This was announced by Director of development management company IG Engineering Vladimir Boyko during the “4th European-Ukrainian Energy Day”.
“The first stage is on the final phase of construction. We plan the opening in September/October and immediately begin construction of the second phase, which we expect to be put in operation in April next year,” – said Vladimir Boyko.
According to V. Boyko, “Eastern Investment Group” also designs biofuel CHP in Rivne and Chernihiv regions, construction permit is expected to be issued by the autumn this year.
While the first project is financed by the company solely, the future projects call for loans. “We have signed a credit agreement with Ukreximbank for $ 6 million, and we have an agreement with the EBRD … we expect the signing of the loan agreement with the London Bank within two weeks ” – summarized V. Boyko.
