The Cabinet of Ministers approved the state target economic program on energy efficiency for 2010-2015, Ukrinform reports quoting Kommersant-Ukraine.

It is planned to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of Ukrainian enterprises by 15-20% before 2016 . The government expects that implementation of the program will reduce the GDP energy intensity by 20% compared to 2008. Funding for the program will be implemented from the state and local budgets, as well as by attracting investments. Ukraine is ready to reduce its quota of greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, to 736.6 million tons of carbon dioxide. It was earlier reported that in 2010 Ukraine planed to get UAH 1.5 billion (USD 1 – UAH 7.98) from the sale of units of assigned amount of emissions.
